Our Family Story

The Rise of the DAHAQUA Lineage

Every great dynasty begins with a moment of courage — a moment where one person chooses to shape destiny instead of inheriting it.
For the DAHAQUA family, that moment came when Jevoyan Dahaqua made the bold decision to create a name that carried purpose, identity, and a future. A name that did not simply link him to the past…
but built a new foundation for generations yet to come.

DAHAQUA is more than a surname.
It is a creation, a rebirth, and a legacy forged by vision.

Family Roots

The Meaning of DAHAQUA

The name DAHAQUA blends modern creativity with ancient echoes. Though newly formed in 2020, its sound carries a rhythm reminiscent of:

  • West African warrior clans

  • Caribbean maroon leaders

  • Indigenous Arawak lineage

  • Royal houses of old kingdoms

The name’s cadence suggests strength, water, wisdom, and endurance — elements that define a people who rise, adapt, and evolve.

In mythology crafted around the family, “DAHAQUA” is said to represent:

• Guardians of Knowledge

• Keepers of Unity

• Builders of Legacy

Whether rooted in ancient imagination or modern invention, the name carries a force that feels timeless.

Jamaica: Where the Legacy Begins

Although the name DAHAQUA was born in 2020, the spirit of the family comes from Jamaica — specifically Kingston and St. Andrew, where generations before lived, loved, struggled, and built their futures.

The earliest influences came from:

  • Norman Dilworth, representing discipline, strength, and the industrious heritage of St. Andrew

  • Dianna Reid, representing resilience, wisdom, and the soulful traditions of Westmoreland

Their son, Jevoyan, carried the essence of both worlds — the hills of Stony Hill and the heartbeat of Kingston. Their values became the pillars the DAHAQUA name would one day stand on.

The Turning Point: A Legacy Reborn

In 2016, Jevoyan migrated to the United States alone — a step that transformed his life.
Far from home, he built himself through discipline, sacrifice, and relentless ambition. His journey into aviation, a field few from his background dared to dream of, symbolized the breaking of generational limitations.
